Horse Riding

Horse Riding
There are a couple of Riding Clubs in Phuket. You can ride along the beach in time for the sunset or through forests and woodland. They provide horses ideal for beginners or experts and instructors are available if you are a first timer.

Go Karting

Go Karting
There is a Go Karting track in Patong with a racing track of 750 meters. They have 160cc to 400cc Karts, High Speed Super Karts, and even Karts for the kids, capable of speeds from 40 to 110 km/h. They are open in the evening too for a spot of night racing.

Shooting

Shooting Range
You don’t usually think of going to a shooting range when visiting a tropical island but it can be fun or, at the very least, get rid of some frustrations. Instructors are available if you are a beginner and there are facilities for the experienced too. AK-47s, M-16s, Colt 45s, Smith and Wesson and Magnums are just some of the guns you can try. They have Bulls-eye, human and outdoor falling plate targets to practice shooting at, so there is no need to ask your partner to help out!

Drive an All Terrain Vehicle on off road natural trails, through tropical forests, local villages, farms, rubber plantations and deserted beaches. You are able to observe the lifestyles of the local people; this hasn’t been ‘set up’ for tourists and is interesting to see. Tours take place in Phuket and Phang-Nga.

There are four challenging 18-hole golf courses in Phuket, most of them are new with highly equipped clubhouses and are set in luxuriant settings. Green fees and caddy fees are relatively low. You will find courses set amidst lush mountains and overlooking the Andaman Sea. Get that at home?

I can’t say I have ever thought of jumping from a great height and hurtling 50m towards the ground below with only a rubber band tied to my ankles fun! If you require an adrenalin rush then here you go. The jump site is operated from Kathu and overlooks the woodlands and lake.

Rock climbing

If you want to go climbing in Phuket then try the Phuket Cliffhanger. It involves climbing a mountain 270 meters above sea level overlooking Patong Bay, rappelling down rock faces and walking across a sling bridge over the forest canopy. Obviously for the more adventuress of you, don’t try it if you are afraid of heights.
