Thai visaVisa

Tourist Visa Exemption
The Thai government lets nationals from 39 countries visit Thailand for tourism reasons for up to 30 days without an entry visa.
This is applicable to the following countries; Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bahrain, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Ireland,

Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Qatar, Singapore, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, USA, Vietnam. If you belong to one of these 39 countries, when you enter Thailand you will receive a stamp in your passport. For most people visiting Phuket on holiday this is sufficient.

Visa on Arrival
Nationals of 14 countries are able to acquire a visa on arrival which is valid for 15 days. This can be obtained at Phuket International Airport, at the immigration office. The visa costs 800 Baht and you must have confirmation of a return ticket. This is applicable to the following countries; Bhutan, China (including Taiwan), Cyprus, Czech Republic, Hungary, India, Kazakhstan, Maldives, Mauritius, Oman, Poland, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine.

Tourist Visa
If you are hoping to stay longer than 30 days you must obtain a Tourist Visa before you travel, which is valid for 60 days and must be obtained from a Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate abroad. The visa costs 1,000 baht per entry.

The documents you will need are:
1. Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months
2. Visa application form filled out
3. One photograph 4 x 6cm
4. Confirmed air ticket
5. Evidence of adequate finance (20,000 Baht per person and 40,000 Baht per family)

Extension of Stay Those who want to extend their tourist visa or change their category of visa have to fill in an application form at the Office of Immigration Bureau located in Phuket Town. They will extend it for an additional 30 days and it will cost you 1900 baht.

Always check the period of stay stamped in your passport upon entry into the Kingdom. If you outstay your welcome then you are liable to pay a charge of 500 baht for every day you overstay. All tourists must hold a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond their planned length of stay.

Always check visa information yourself.
