rainy season

Welcome to Thailand, home of 3 seasons. Hot, hotter and the infamous ‘rainy season’. This elusive season is often factored into the decisions of holiday destinations. However, don’t let these words fool you. It’s a beautiful day today, the sun is shining, the fluffy white clouds hiding behind the mountain dancing past the window enticing all to come outside and play.

This is the rainy season?

The wettest month is October, according to the data, with September and August coming next. We can’t believe we’re going to tell you this but…this is a great time to come to the tropical oasis that is Phuket. It’s true that it will rain, either during the day or possibly in the night but these ‘storms’ rarely last long, sometimes dumping a lot of rain in a short period of time boosting the ‘monthly averages’ to frighten off any would-be visitors. But in fact if you look at the data the months from May to August have over 50% of the days recording NO rain, not even a short, refreshing, excuse to drink early type of rain. So much for the ‘rainy season’.

So grab a rain poncho from 7-11 and your sunblock because Life is like a box of chocolates and chocolate is delicious.
